I don’t really know what to think of the website Japanese Bug Fights. It’s like someone commented on this video; real life Pokemon. I feel sorry for the bugs, but you have to admit it; those Japanese sure know how to make a bugfight exciting.
De website Japanese Bug Fights staat, zoals de naam al doet vermoeden, vol met filmpjes van insecten die elkaar te lijf gaan. Deze ronde; een kever versus een schorpioen. Begrijp me niet verkeerd, ik vind het behoorlijk zielig voor de insecten, maar de Japanners maken er wel wat moois van.

Dutch artist Barbara Wijnveld paints self-portraits in primary colours only (red, yellow and blue), but the paint is applied in transparent layers which creates all sorts of colours. All these accidental drips and ‘calculation with colours’, as she calls her painting technique, create a beautiful effect.

While blogging for a few months I’ve been asked several times to write in English. At first I thought it was kind of a funny question ( I mean, the title pretty much gives away the whole point of my blog and there isn’t all that much text anyway), but I’ve come to see how not understanding Dutch can be annoying at some posts. From now on, I’ll try to do my best and post awesome things both in Dutch and English if necessary, but I have to warn you, my English is far from flawless.
As I said, the title (1000 Things I Like) pretty much summarizes it all. This blog is my digital scrapbook and visual archive. I post things I come across on the internet that I find interesting, awesome, inspirational, beautiful, hilarious or just stupid. So basically I blog just for myself, just so I can find these things again later. However everyone who likes the same stuff as me, is more than welcome to check out my blog (and suggest things I might like as well).

Luke Haynes maakt quilts, een soort patchwork kleedjes. Nu zijn er een heleboel omaatjes die dat ook doen, maar meneer Haynes, doet het erg mooi. Zo mooi dat ik zijn kleedjes als kunst durf te bestempelen. Check ze uit!
Tijdens het photoshoppen komt er eens een moment waarop je een pijltje nodig hebt… Dan komt deze Hand & Arrow van Michael Mulvey goed van pas, in plaats van dat je met je Printscreen-functie aan de slag gaat.
